Splitting a load

Modified on Mon, 11 Sep, 2023 at 9:50 AM

To split the load, you need to have a load page opened (see article for load page) and go the edit mode using the edit button:

Next, click on the Quick Split button:

This will open a fill-out form:

  • The address will be the location where the load will be split.
  • The position adds the driver after specified destination. The position automatically suggests you a correct number, but it is editable if needed.
  • The Customer App. Time From and Customer App. Time To must be filled out. They will later on be assigned to the Pickup Trailer and Drop Trailer stops.
  • To assign a new driver, click on the Driver field and select a different driver from the drop-down options. This field is not mandatory, meaning that the split can be done even if you will not assign a driver at this step, although this is recommended.

  • To assign a different linehaul for the new driver, fill in the Driver Linehaul field. The driver linehaul can also be added later on in the edit mode.

After filling out the mandatory fields that are marked with a * symbol and any extra information that you need, click on the Save button:

The load will now have 2 more stops - one for the Drop Trailer and one for the Pickup Trailer:

Given the example of the load above and that the position setting was left at 1, the load was split in the middle - meaning that the Drop Trailer and Pickup Trailer stops are now displayed in between the PU and DEL stops.

NOTE:

  • To do a double split for a load, follow the steps described above (using the Quick Splits button and filling out the form). The position number will automatically change to the recommended one - in this case, it would be displayed as this:

  • Driver linehaul can not exceed the total Linehaul Rate. If you have a multiple split load, make sure to assign linehauls in between the total linehaul frame.

While editing the driver linehauls, click the Save button only after the total linehaul is not exceeded.

  • Driver linehaul will be automatically assigned correctly only in case of the first split. In other cases, such as triple split, make sure to add it correctly in the editing mode.

  • The first driver is mandatory in order to do a split. If you attempt to split a load with no driver assigned, a system message will pop up informing you of this:
