Planner

To start using a planner, click on the Operations tab in the TMS dashboard and select Planner.

Planner supports fleet managers on daily load planning activities, including updating driver's ETA's and/or ETE's, making important notes, and more.

Planner is integrated with other OpenRoad parts like Available Trucks, therefore ensuring an up-to-date data exchange between different modules in OpenRoad.

After opening the planner, you will see an empty overview, since no information was selected.

There are a few steps you need to take:

1. Select a driver: Click on the Selected drivers: 0 button, select the driver or the whole fleet managers team, and click on the OK button.

If you do not see teams and drivers available to choose from after clicking on the Select a driver button, it means that they are not assigned to the teams. To fix this, you need to create/edit the user of your Fleet Manager. It is important to assign the user to a team and an office.

Fleet Managers later on need to be assigned to the drivers in their profiles:

If the Fleet Manager's user was created correctly, you will notice that the team appears after assigning a Fleet Manager to a driver.

2. Select the time range: Click on the dates and select a relevant time range.

3. Click on the Search button.

Right here is the example of the page you would be able to see.

The first number is the assigned driver’s number which can be clicked on, in which case, you will be redirected to the driver’s profile. If the driver’s number is written in orange, the driver has encountered some problems with his truck. To see more information, click on the plus button next to the driver's ID.

The second one is the trailer's number, which can be clicked on to see the full information. If the trailer’s number is written in orange, the driver has encountered some problems with his trailer.

The third line stands for miles per week. There are four colors that indicate ranges of miles: red (daily miles target is below 80% - up to 1999 miles), orange (daily miles target is between 80% and 90% - 2000 – 2249 miles), yellow (daily miles target is between 90% and 100% - 2250 – 2499 miles) and green (daily miles target is 100% or more – 2500 and more miles).

The fourth one represents miles per day.

You can also click this button to save the driver's information (name, phone number, truck, and trailer) to the clipboard:

All of the other fields can be hovered over or clicked on to see the detailed information and edit it.

The sign allows to create an accessorial event, while this icon creates an off-duty event.

All the explanations for the planner marking can be found by clicking on a question mark button next to the search button:

You can also leave important notes. To do so, click on this field:

The note you saved will also be seen on the map in the Available Trucks module.

By clicking on the + next to the driver's number, you can see more information about the driver's loads, HOS status and more.

The information you enter in the yellow note section is saved only in the planner and can not be seen anywhere else.
